Does the solar water heater function even on cloudy days?
On partially cloudy days, the solar water heater would still work but not at its optimal level. In general the SolarMaxx integrated solar water heating system's hot water storage tank is PUF insulated and is capable of holding water hot for as much as 2 to 3 days at a higher temperature for bathing purposes. Which is a boon, if you are returning for a travel, the water in you bathroom will still be hot as it has not been consumed. But in normal cases when the water has been consumed, then for the bad weather days the electric power backup option is a quick way out as the system comes with a internal water heating rod which can heat all the water in about an hours time. So you just need to turn the power on for a limited period.
